Time for evaluation of your OneTrust setup

Most OneTrust configurations are built for the organization you were, not the one you are today.

Think of it like planning an expedition. You start with your best understanding of the terrain and pack accordingly. But once you're out there, you learn things you couldn't have known from the map.

The same happens with OneTrust implementations. You configured based on what you knew about your privacy processes and system capabilities at the time. Since then, you've learned the specifics of how your teams actually work, what information you really need, and how the system behaves in practice.

Most likely, there's now a gap between what you need and what your current setup delivers.

Here's what I see working:

🔹️ Treat data mapping as a business process, not just a technical exercise

🔹️ Conduct proper business analysis to understand current vs. required state

🔹️ Identify specific gaps between your processes and system configuration

🔹️ Adapt your 'equipment' (configuration) based on what you've learned

Technology alone doesn't modernize an organization. Well-structured processes do.

Maybe it's time to evaluate whether your OneTrust setup is still fit for purpose for your next expedition.
