Since 2018, I’ve been passionately involved in setting up and optimizing OneTrust environments. What started as a user journey quickly evolved into a role where I became responsible for the entire system configuration. With a background as a COBOL programmer, I have a deep-rooted fascination for data. For me, every project begins with truly understanding the business and then identifying the real information needs.

When I support customers to get the most out of their OneTrust systems, I follow a set of guiding principles that keep things clear, effective, and impactful:

Privacy processes are business processes
As someone once said ... it’s all about the data
Keep it simple, or at least start simple!
It’s about identifying risks, not about mimicking the world
Cater for structural situations, not for exceptions
Don’t key it in if you don’t know how to get it out (in a meaningful way)
Basics first; get a clear overview of your portfolio first
Learn from the basics, understand your data before extending
